Super Bowl está a la vuelta de la esquina. Mi esposo y yo nos conocimos en un domingo de Super Bowl hace algunos años, y como siempre hay fiestas ese día pues hacemos doble celebración, ¿qué tal?
Sin embargo, fiestas regularmente vienen de la mano con alcohol, es por esto que la Administración Nacional de Seguridad de las Carreteras (NHTSA por sus siglas en inglés) y el Consejo de Anuncios Públicos (Ad Council), a través de su campaña "Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving" nos exhortan a ser cautelosos este fin de semana. Buzzed es difícil de traducir al español, pero se refiere a aquellas personas, no necesariamente borrachas, pero que sienten que pueden manejar porque "no tomaron mucho." El objetivo de esta campaña es compartir el mensaje de que tan sólo una bebida puede afectar cuando manejas.
Ellos nos piden que por favor tengamos un plan, ya sea teniendo un conductor designado, teniendo un amigo que maneje por nosotros o teniendo números de taxis en nuestros teléfonos.
Cuídate y cuida de tus seres queridos, antes, durante y después de las fiestas de Super Bowl, de esta manera cada año tendrás una celebración segura y divertida, tal como la tenemos nosotros.

This weekend is the Big Game! My husband and I met on a Super Bowl Sunday a few years back, so there will always be a party on the anniversary of the day we met, how cool is that?!
Big celebrations are on tap and that means, for many, alcohol will be, too. So, this weekend the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Ad Council, through their campaign "Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving," would like to remind us all to be extra careful this Super Bowl Weekend. Buzzed drivers are those who drink and drive, but do not consider themselves a hazard on the road because "only a few" drinks are consumed. The campaign hopes to educate people that consuming even one drink can impair driving.
They ask that we all please plan ahead, designate a sober driver, find a friend to drive us home, or have taxi numbers stored in our phones.
Keep yourself and your loved ones safe, before, during, and after the Super Bowl, so that every year Super Bowl Sunday will be a special and fun weekend for you like it is for us.
