Cri Cri el grillito cantor/Cri Cri the little singing Cricket

Hace unos dias tuve la oportunidad de visitar familiares en LA y uno de ellos es una fantástica maestra bilingüe de quien siempre aprendo algo nuevo. Y esta ocasión sali de su casa cargada de CD's con música para niños en español que muy generosamente nos regalo. Así que todo el camino a casa venimos escuchando todas estas bellas canciones que me recordaron mi niñez. 

Mi hijo mayor mostró un poco de resistencia al principio (el quería escuchar canciones en inglés) pero fuimos firmes y le dijimos que en cuanto empezara a aprender la letra de las canciones las disfrutaría tanto como las otras. Así que desde entonces traigo la música en español en el coche. Y esta manana me dió mucho gusto cuando el de repente empezó a cantar un par de canciones y hasta me pidió que parara la música para cantarlas a capela!! Uno de los discos que me trae mayores recuerdos es el de Cri Cri, el grillito cantor, que me hizo remontarme hasta mis dias de kinder cuando nos ponían "la marcha de las letras" para entrar a nuestros salones de clase o cuando mi mama nos ponía los discos en casa y seguiamos los cuentos y las canciones del album. Aún tengo grabado en mi mente claramente la caja con el monton de LP's y el libro que leía y releía sentada en la alfombra junto al tocadiscos . En aquel entonces estoy segura que me divertía mucho cantar y escuchar las canciones por su sencillez y melodía pero ahora que soy mamá me doy cuenta de lo hermoso que es todo el arreglo musical. Mi hijo y yo hemos creado un juego cuando estamos en el coche en el cual que tratamos de identificar los instrumentos musicales de la orquesta y cada día encuentra más. ¿Ustedes recuerdan estas canciones también? que me dicen del chorrito, la muñeca fea, el comal le dijo a la olla y tantas otras. Encontre un video en youtube publicado por hugoco79 (gracias por compartirlo con el cyberespacio) con "caminito de la escuela" a ver que opinan.

A few days ago we were visiting some family in LA, one of them is a great bilingual teacher who I always look forward to seeing because I learn so much from her.  Well this time I left her house with a bunch of CD's with children's music in Spanish that she very generously gave us and we listened to them all the way home.

My oldest son showed some resistance to the Spanish songs at the beginning (he wanted just English) but we persisted saying to him that he would like the songs once he learned the lyrics.  So since I have just Spanish music in the car.  This morning I was glad to hear my son singing a couple of the songs and he actually asked me to stop the music so he could sing them a capela!  One of the discs is Cri Cri el Grillito Cantor (literally, Cri Cri, the little singing Cricket) and I can't help feeling all the emotion of my childhood when I hear those songs.  I remember my kindergarten with "la marcha de las letras," (The March of the Letters) the song they always played as we filed into our classrooms.  And I remember my mom playing the LP while I read the companion book with the lyrics and stories over and over again.  At that time I'm sure I enjoyed the songs for their simplicity and melodies, but now as a mom, I can also hear the beauty of their interpretations.  My son and I play in the car trying to identify every musical instrument in the orchestra, and he is getting really good at it!  Do you remember any of these songs, too?  Here is a video published by hugoco79 on youtube with "Caminito de la Escuela," what do you think?
