"Manos" / "Hands"

ENGLISH VERSION BELOW

¡Vamos a manenernos sanos!

ENGLISH

Lately it seems every kid we know is sick or has been sick. I have friends with kids suffering either from pneumonia or bronchitis. My kids had colds a week ago and still have lingering coughs, fortunately they are recovering quickly. However, all this reminds me that the seasonal flu and H1N1 are still among us, and I need to keep following the recommendations of health authorities.

In an effort to keep top of mind awareness about the H1N1 virus, the California Department of Public Health has launched a campaign called, "Hands" ("Manos"), which recommends:
  • Receiving the vaccine
  • Covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing
  • Washing hands often with soap and water
  • Staying at home when sick
At the California Department of Public Health web page you can find a lot of information about the H1N1 virus, check it out!

Let's stay healthy! The flu stops with you!

  2. Thanks so much for this blog post. People need constant reminders to help keep themeselves and those around them healthy. When it's not headline news, people tend to forget!

I've also heard that when you cough or sneeze, you should cover your mouth with your arm instead of a hand.
